Grand Teton seeks fence-mending volunteers for National Public Lands Day

Volunteers are sought to help with a project in Grand Teton National Park that will replace the bottom strand of barbed wire on fencing with smooth wire located higher off the ground, allowing pronghorn antelope to more easily pass underneath.

In addition to free entry to Grand Teton National Park and the rest of America's federally managed public lands on Saturday, Sept. 28, volunteers will work to modify a fence to benefit wildlife. Free entry to Yellowstone and Grand Teton on Aug. 25

Visitors to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks can get in free on Sunday, Aug. 25 in celebration of the 97th anniversary of the National Park Service. In fact, all 401 national park units will waive entrance fees Aug. 25. The fee for a private, non-commercial vehicle to Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks normally costs $25 for seven days. All National Park Service sites across the nation, including Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, will waive admission fees Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr., federal holiday. No matter how you enter either park—by car, RV, bus or on a guided snowmobile or snowcoach trip—the entrance fee will be waived on Monday, January 21. The special free day is the first of 11 days throughout 2013 when the Park Service will waive entry fees as a way to encourage people to get outdoors and enjoy the national parks, according to a release form the Yellowstone public affairs office. Yellowstone and Grand Teton entry fees waived for MLK Day weekend Jan. 14-16

Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks are among more than 100 national parks that will waive entrance fees this weekend, Jan. 14-16, in observance of the federal Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.
