Jackson beer will benefit Jenny Lake improvements in Grand Teton

The most popular beer from Wyoming's oldest brewery is getting a makeover. Actually, the beer itself will stay the same—it's the brand that's getting a refresh. And the change is likely to be a huge boost for one of the most popular destinations in Grand Teton National Park. Snake River Brewing produces both a Snake River Lager and a Snake River Ale. After 20 years, the brewery figured it was time to rebrand the acclaimed lager as a way to avoid confusion between the two beers. This week, it will be relaunched as Jenny Lake Lager. Grand Teton closes Jenny Lake trails during construction

Starting Monday, October 27, a temporary area closure will be in effect for several trails within the Jenny Lake area of Grand Teton National Park. Park officials say the temporary public closures are necessary to ensure public safety during construction activities involving helicopter-assisted transport of heavy material to trail locations on the west side of Jenny Lake. The public closure will last from October 27 through October 30, and possibly longer, according to a statement released by the park's public affairs office. Continue Reading →

Park Service approves Grand Teton plan to overhaul Jenny Lake area

A proposed overhaul of a popular hiking and recreation spot in Grand Teton National Park has been given the green light by regional managers with the National Park Service. Jenny Lake renewal plan comments due March 15

The public is reminded that the Jenny Lake Renewal Plan Environmental Assessment is available for public review, and comments are due by March 15, 2014. The purpose of the Jenny Lake Renewal initiative is to create a master plan that will provide for an improved visitor experience that is both safe and environmentally sensitive, as well as enriched through educational and informational opportunities. Grand Teton Foundation to lead $16 million Jenny Lake rehab

Grand Teton plans extensive overhaul of heavily used Jenny Lake area

One of the busiest and most heavily used areas in Grand Teton National Park will be revitalized and overhauled under a long-term plan to improve trails and facilities that have suffered under high visitor traffic. Grand Teton Superintendent Mary Gibson Scott announced Friday that the park is seeking public input for an improvement plan for the Jenny Lake area, according to a statement released by the park's public affairs office.
