The Idaho director of a nonprofit group working to protect habitat and wildlife around Yellowstone National Park has pleaded guilty to elk poaching, and is leaving the organization. Marv Hoyt, who was an outspoken advocate for wildlife in the greater Yellowstone area, admitted last month in Idaho's Sixth District Court that he illegally killed two cow elk in Caribou County, according to a report in the Idaho State Journal. Wyoming game officials investigating illegal wolf kills near Grand Teton

Wyoming Game and Fish Department officials are seeking information about the illegal killing of two gray wolves in the Gros Ventre area near Jackson, Wyo., east of Grand Teton National Park. Elk poached in remote corner of Yellowstone Park

Authorities in Yellowstone National Park are seeking information that would help identify the individual or persons responsible for illegally retrieving a bull elk carcass from inside the park last month. Park rangers determined the bull was shot sometime between Sept. 11 and Sept. 21, inside the park’s southern boundary behind the Wyoming Game and Fish Department patrol cabin along Thorofare Creek, according to a statement released by the park's public affairs office.
