CODY, WYO. \u2014 Yellowstone Gate, a growing online news outlet focused on Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area, has extended its reach, adding thousands of new readers after completing paid content syndication agreements with local and national partners.<\/p>\n

As the leading local news service dedicated exclusively to covering Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks and their gateway communities, YellowstoneGate.com<\/a> provides news, commentary, travel advice, photos and videos to a growing audience of active and engaged readers.<\/p>\n

“Throughout the course of the summer tourism season, more and more readers have wholeheartedly embraced our effort to share news and information with local residents and visitors to these two wonderful national parks,” said Ruffin Prevost, founding editor of Yellowstone Gate in a statement released Thursday.<\/p>\n

“My goal has always been to better inform the public about public lands and natural resource issues throughout the greater Yellowstone area,” Prevost said of the website, based in Cody, Wyo. “It’s great to be able to partner with some of the best news outlets in the region to help bring this key information to a wider audience.”<\/p>\n

Various Wyoming and Montana news outlets, as well as the leading website covering national parks, have all joined as paid content syndication partners with Yellowstone Gate. The Billings Gazette<\/a>, The Powell Tribune<\/a>, The Big Horn Radio Network<\/a>, WyoFile<\/a> and National Parks Traveler<\/a> make up the initial group of news outlets republishing Yellowstone Gate content.<\/p>\n

“Yellowstone National Park is important to the readers of The Billings Gazette. That\u2019s why we\u2019re finding good value in the stories and photos provided by Yellowstone Gate,” said Gazette editor Steve Prosinski. “We know Ruffin Prevost, who worked for The Gazette for several years. He knows the area and we trust his writing to be interesting and accurate.”<\/p>\n

The Gazette publishes the most widely read newspaper and news website in Montana and northern Wyoming. Prevost was The Gazette’s Wyoming reporter from 2005-2010.<\/p>\n

“With Yellowstone National Park playing such a vital role in our communities, it is important that we get the most up-to-date and insightful news as possible. There is no source we trust more to provide this information than Yellowstone Gate,” said David Koch, news director for the Big Horn Radio Network.<\/p>\n

Based in Cody, Koch heads news operations for eight radio stations across Wyoming’s Bighorn Basin.<\/p>\n

Under a separate agreement, Prevost also provides Yellowstone and Grand Teton news to Reuters<\/a>, the world’s largest multimedia news service.<\/p>\n

Since its launch in November 2011, Yellowstone Gate has brought readers in-depth and detailed coverage of topics like Yellowstone’s winter-use plan, search-and-rescue efforts in Grand Teton National Park, natural resource issues in gateway communities and general travel-related tips and information for park visitors.<\/p>\n

The advertiser-supported Yellowstone Gate website produces a free, weekly email newsletter and engages with large and active communities on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.<\/p>\n

In March, the National Parks Promotion Council<\/a> recognized Yellowstone Gate for its Parked for a Day<\/a> feature, a user-generated collection of insider accounts about activities aimed at encouraging and empowering visitors to park their cars and spend a day in the parks.<\/p>\n
