A Nevada man was sentenced Nov. 25 in federal court in connection with a June 28 stabbing in Grand Teton National Park.<\/p>\n
Vincent\u00a0Earl\u00a0Hagey, 32, of Las Vegas, Nev. was sentenced to one year of probation by District Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal in Cheyenne, Wyo., according to a statement released by the park’s public affairs office.<\/p>\n
As part of a plea bargain, Hagey will also pay restitution in the amount of $6,765.90 and a $100.00 court assessment fee, and must complete programs for substance abuse and anger management.<\/p>\n
Hagey was arrested after an incident that occurred around 1:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, at an employee dormitory adjacent to Jackson Lake Lodge.<\/p>\n
Park rangers arrived at the Jackson Lake Lodge employee dormitory area and identified the victim, who reported he had been stabbed in the abdomen. A witness reported details of a dispute between the victim Hagey, and had seen Hagey with a knife in his hand and had seen Hagey make a stabbing motion towards the victim, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
The investigation revealed the argument centered over a Camelbak filled with alcohol. Park rangers arrested Hagey and the victim was transported by ambulance to a Jackson, Wyo. hospital.<\/p>\n
This case was investigated by National Park Service U.S. Park Rangers and National Park Service special agents from the Yellowstone National Park Field Office.<\/p>\n
