The National Park Service is seeking public input on a plan that will guide management of the Moose-Wilson corridor in Grand Teton National Park. Acting Superintendent Kevin Schneider announced today that the Park Service is developing a comprehensive management plan and environmental impact statement for the Moose-Wilson corridor. Yellowstone extending public comment period on electrical upgrade

The National Park Service is extending the public comment period on a plan to implement infrastructure upgrades to the electrical power distribution system in Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone seeking public comments on utility service upgrades

The National Park Service is seeking public comment on planned infrastructure upgrades meant to improve the reliability, safety and quality of NorthWestern Energy’s electrical power distribution within Yellowstone National Park. NorthWestern Energy, an investor-owned utility that provides electricity and natural gas in the northwestern United States, has provided electrical power to Yellowstone National Park since the late 1950s using both aerial and buried transmission lines. Yellowstone seeking public comments on commercial livestock use

The National Park Service is seeking public comment on an Environmental Assessment that evaluates a plan to issue concession contracts for guided, interpretive saddle- and pack-stock tours in Yellowstone National Park. The intent of the EA is not to eliminate stock use in the park, but rather to manage commercial use in accordance with the 1998 NPS Concessions Management Improvement Act and the NPS Management Policies 2006. Grand Teton National Park seeks comments on planned Moose water system overhaul

Grand Teton National Park is seeking public comment on its environmental assessment of a plan to replace the wastewater system at Moose and to upgrade other deficiencies in the community's water systems. The community has a handful of permanent residents and also hosts the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center and the National Park Service headquarters for Grand Teton, as well as some concessioners and cabins. Park Service schedules February meetings for Yellowstone winter-use options

The National Park Service has scheduled four open-house meetings for mid-February in gateway communities around Yellowstone National Park to answer questions about ongoing efforts to develop a long-term winter-use plan for the park. The Park Service is operating this winter in Yellowstone under a "one-year rule," designating winter from Dec. 15, 2011 to mid-March 2012 as a "transition year." That means use levels and restrictions on snowmobiles and snow coaches, for instance, are the same as the interim rule that has governed use over the past two seasons. Efforts to nail down a long-term winter-use plan have been complicated by public debate, including court challenges, over issues like snowmobile traffic and avalanche management on Sylvan Pass, between Cody, Wyo. and Fishing Bridge.
