Twenty-four people were treated for injuries follwing a commercial tour bus Thursday afternoon in Grand Teton National Park. A bus carrying 26 passengers and a driver crashed approximately four miles north of Colter Bay Village. Ambulances and a passenger van were used to transport 24 people for medical care at St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson, Wyoming. Schwabacher Landing Road reopens in Grand Teton

The Schwabacher Landing Road and parking area in Grand Teton National Park will open to public access on Thursday, June 19. A paving project on the upper portion of Schwabacher Road just west of Highway 26/89/191 (Hwy 89) has been completed, allowing for this popular park location to open for the summer season. An overlay road project will be underway on 10.5 miles of Hwy 89 between Craighead Hill, about two miles north of Moose Junction, and Cunningham Cabin that lies north of Triangle X Ranch. Signal Mountain Road in Grand Teton subject to closures

The Signal Mountain Summit Road in Grand Teton National Park will be temporarily closed to public access while Teton Interagency Fire Management staff conduct fuels reduction work along the upper 1.5 miles of road. Between June 17 and July 17, park visitors should expect road closures on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews may also close the road for short periods of time during the remainder of the week to facilitate the movement of equipment and provide for public safety on the narrow, winding road. Motorists may experience a minor travel delay along Highway 26/89/191 (Hwy 89) from Moran Junction to the Elk Ranch flats (one mile south of the junction) on Saturday morning, June 7, between the hours of 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. The temporary delay will allow for the safe movement of cattle from the Pinto Ranch of Buffalo Valley to the Elk Ranch pastures, that lie south of Moran Junction and the Buffalo Fork River. Rangers in Grand Teton use spike strips to stop vehicles in separate incidents

Rangers in Grand Teton National Park used road spikes Sunday to stop a vehicle that failed to pull over for a traffic stop, the second time in three weeks that the tactic has been used by park law enforcement officers. A driver on U.S. Highway 26/89/191 did not pull over shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday when a ranger attempted to stop the motorist for crossing the center line, according to a statement released by the park's public affairs office.
