The National Park Service has announced opening dates for seasonally operated facilities and roads in Grand Teton National Park and the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway. For the first time since fall, visitors to Yellowstone National Park will be able to drive to see Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone starting Friday morning, April 18. The roads from West Yellowstone, Mont. and Mammoth Hot Springs, Wyo. to these popular visitor destinations open for the season at 8:00 a.m. Additionally, park entrance fees will be waived April 19 and 20 to kick off National Park Week. Two Yellowstone campgrounds reopen as fires smolder

Fire activity has been reported as light this week on several smoldering fires in Yellowstone National Park, and two backcountry campgrounds will be reopened after closures from earlier fire activity. Morning travel delays expected in Grand Teton during September

A brief travel closure on the section of Teton Park Road that crosses over Jackson Lake dam in Grand Teton National Park will occur on Tuesday, Sept. 10, Tuesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 19. Construction begins on East Entrance road in Yellowstone, continues at Tower

New construction has begun on a section of the East Entrance road located near Lake Butte Overlook at the northern edge of Yellowstone Lake. Much of the eastbound lane along the section of road at a point known as “Nine Mile,” between Lake Butte Overlook and Sedge Bay, was washed away in May 2011 during heavy spring rains and snowmelt.
